The Business Retention & Workforce Development committee met on Thursday, May 24, 2018, at 8:30 AM. The committee discussed the suggested topics for the next Early-Risers Breakfast Networking event focusing on Social Media in Business. This event will be on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at 7:00 AM located at the Perdido Community Center. Attendees are expected to pre-register online using the event page here.
This particular breakfast focused on the topic of Social Media and Web Marketing in business. There will be a panel of local professionals in this field to help explain to business owners and business marketers the best practices to increase their online presence. The Panel will be moderated by Emily Etscheid, Member Services Manager for the Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce. The panelists are as follows:
Briana Snellgrove, Social Icon (See Bio)
Charleigh Kennedy, Ideaworks (See Bio)
Blakeli Calvert, Flora-Bama (See Bio)
Registered attendees will be asked to submit their questions prior to the event so that the time will be best used to answer the audience questions.
A delicious breakfast will be provided by Sally’s Island Catering and the event sponsor, SouthTel, Inc. will be in attendance to share some information with the audience about new communication tools!
Based on interest from the attending audience, the Business Retention & Workforce Development Committee will consider adding an additional workshop for the topic of Business Structure for those who would like to go into more detail on a specific subject. The more in-depth workshop would be held in May 2018, either as a morning “Breakfast Brief” or a “Lunch & Learn” located at the Chamber office.
The committee also discussed new plans for the August and October breakfast meetings. The decision was made to create a two-part program focusing on the future development of the Perdido Key Area. Part two will focus on the Florida side, part two will focus on the Alabama side of the state line. The committee is also looking for a new location for the breakfast meetings If you have any suggestions for the committee, please contact chair Jim Beran.
