The Advocacy Committee met on September 27th, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. The committee continued the discussion from the last meeting on underground utilities. There was also discussion regarding Triumph, the use of registered voters lists, coastal clean-up participation and partnering with PKA and others on World Oceans Day.
The committee also spoke about and would like to encourage all community members to attend a blood drive through One Blood
on October 27th at the Shrimp Basket.
The Chamber staff agreed to create a list of organizations that the committee members should consider attending to learn more about ways the advocacy committee can stay in touch. Some named at the meeting include Floridians for Better Transportation, Pensacola Chamber, Marine Advisory Board and BRACE. Some members in the meeting agreed to attend the meetings of Friends of Pensacola State Park, TPO meetings and TPO related meetings and PKA meetings. Charles Krupnick, of the PKA, plans to stay involved in our Advocacy Meetings.
The next meeting will be Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at 8:30 a.m. Please attend if you would like to get involved or have any ideas on what we can be working towards in the Perdido Area. If you have any questions, contact committee chair: Kim Parker
