  • Where is the best place to see the Blue Angels practice?
    The best place to see the Blue Angels practice is the Naval Aviation Station in Pensacola. The viewing area for the Blue Angels practice is located behind the Museum. Signs will be posted to direct visitors to viewing and parking locations, including special spaces for handicapped visitors.

 

  • Where is the nearest Wal-Mart?
    The nearest Wal-Mart is located at the corner of Sorrento Rd and Blue Angel Pkwy.  The address is 2951 S. Blue Angel Pkwy. Pensacola, FL.

 

  • Can I walk my dog on the beach?
    Although it is against Escambia County Ordinances to have dogs on the beach, there are several pet friendly options. Johnson Beach Road: Paved road with Gulf and Sound views - leash required. Tarkiln Bayou State Park, Bauer Road: Trail - leash required. Hub Stacey's Restaurant at the Point, and Sunset Grille at Holiday Harbor.

 

  • When do the turtles lay eggs?
    Every 2-5 years female turtles come ashore to nest 2-6 times during the peak summer months.  The best way to observe sea turtles is to go on a public sea turtle walk.

 

  • What does the purple flag mean?
    The purple beach warning flag means there is dangerous marine life present. The double red flags mean the water is closed to the public. Single red flags mean there is a high hazard. The yellow flags mean there is medium hazard, and the green flags mean there is low hazard.

 

  • How often is the Visitor Center open?
    The Visitor Center is open 7 days a week, except New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.  Our hours of operation are 8:30 am - 4:30 pm CST.

 

  •  Where is Perdido Key located?
    Perdido Key, FL is located between Pensacola and the Alabama state line.
